
Welcome to the 猎奇重口 Summer Music Camp. Since 1952, we have been offering the summer camp that has become a tradition for 猎奇重口ns and many from around the country. Music camp is a great time to interact with student musicians from around the region while learning from UM's music faculty, invited guest experts and our team of college counselors. Whether you are a serious all-state level musician or someone who just loves playing, the UM Summer Music Camp has a place for you.

Resident
Cost includes tuition, three meals per day, t-shirt and camp pictures. Residents of the UM Music Camps stay on campus in one of our dormitories and eat at our award winning Lodge Dining Center. One music camp counselor is assigned to supervise ten campers in the dorms. Students are separated on different floors by gender identity with enforce curfews.
Rooms are furnished with twin beds, closet, drawers, table, chair, curtains, mattress pad, pillow w/case, 2 flat sheets, 2 small towels, 1 wool blanket and free wireless internet. You are encouraged to bring bath & face towels, washcloth, soap, shampoo, personal care items.

General Information
PRIVATE LESSONS
If you are interested in a private lesson with one of the camp staff members, please sign up and pay $25 at the Sunday check-in. Cash only please. In most cases, private lessons are limited to one per week. You are encouraged to bring music (method books, solo music, ensemble music).
WHAT TO BRING
ALL CAMPERS
- Lockers will be available for your use and assigned at the time of registration. Locks will be provided and there will be no charge for their use.
- Please bring clothing appropriate for the two student performances, one on Thursday evening and the final performance on Friday late afternoon. For these occasions, nice casual dresses or skirts and tops, slacks with short-sleeved shirts, with or without tie, are suggested. For Jazz Camp performances, comfortable pants/shorts and camp shirts are suggested.

RESIDENT CAMPERS
Resident campers will be staying in one of the UM residence halls on campus, with university music students serving as full-time counselors. Suggested Items to Bring:
- A good, loud alarm clock!!!!!!
- Typical summer attire for casual wear - it's usually warm but do bring some warm clothing and a jacket.
- An electric fan! Of course, we don’t know what the weather will be like when you are here, but dormitory rooms are not air-conditioned.
- Any other personal items that will help your stay be comfortable and fun
- Optional - mosquito repellent and sunscreen
- Umbrella and/or rain gear for rainy days
Remember, the camp is just one week long, and those of you living on campus should plan wisely and pack accordingly.

MEALS
Resident Campers:
All meals for resident campers will be provided from Sunday dinner through Friday lunch for Weeks 2 & 3 and through Saturday breakfast for Week 1. Campers can bring their own snacks and extra money for food or souvenirs. Most meals are in The Lodge with the exception of Sunday dinner (School of Music lawn), Wednesday lunch (Caras Park) and Wednesday dinner (cookout at Bonner Park).
Commuter Campers:
All lunches and dinners are included in the price of the camp starting with dinner on Sunday evening and ending with lunch on Friday.
