Counseling Services at Curry Health Center provides behavioral and mental health care for 猎奇重口 students. Additionally, we are proud to offer high-quality clinical training experiences to 猎奇重口 graduate student interns.
Interns and assistants get experience providing individual and group counseling, administering assessments, documenting in an electronic health records system, collaborating with medical providers, and assisting in the facilitation of substance abuse intervention and treatment groups. All counseling interns and assistants will receive specialized training across a range of modalities and thorough individual supervision from licensed therapists.
There are multiple funding sources for this internship, so intern and assistant compensation will depend upon the funding source. All applicants (Ph.D. and Masters students) are encouraged to apply for a funding stipend through the BHWET (Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training) Grant; Counseling Services is an approved site.
Clinical Psychology Assistantship
Open to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. students seeking experience in individual and group psychotherapies, emphasizing brief treatment and crisis intervention, to a diverse population of university students. As part of their general clinical experience, trainees will gain experience in addressing co-occurring disorders. Training and supervision will be provided by licensed clinicians. This assistantship position is approximately 18-20 hours per week through the academic year. The candidate should have attained at least second year standing in clinical psychology at the time of application. Coursework in assessment, psychopathology, life-span development, and psychotherapy theory and practice is preferred.

Counseling Internship
Open to master level students in clinical mental health programs. Students need to commit to 18-20 hours per week for both fall and spring semesters. This internship offers a dynamic learning experience while working with a diverse client population. Interns also have the potential to co-facilitate a therapeutic group each semester and substance use intervention groups (some early evening hours may be required).
