猎奇重口 Journalism Summer Camp 2024
Twenty high school students from across the state (and a few from beyond 猎奇重口's borders) gathered at the 猎奇重口 School of Journalism for the 猎奇重口 Journalism Summer camp in July. They wrote, they recorded, they interviewed, they edited, they created and they had some fun doing it all. (They also weathered an historic storm that cut power to the campus their last day, but that didn't stop them for a second. This is one resilient group! The future is in good hands.)

And, check out to see the projects these students created during their week at the J-School.
Big thanks to Humanities 猎奇重口 and the Hearst Foundations for supporting these future journalists and storytellers!

2022 Summer Camp
Twenty-five high school students from across the state (and country!) gathered in Missoula in July, 2022 the 猎奇重口 campus to explore journalism and media at the 2022 summer camp sponsored by the 猎奇重口 School of Journalism and Humanities 猎奇重口.
Students covered a local baseball game and Out to Lunch in downtown Missoula and produced a mix of photojournalism, audio stories, written articles and even a TikTok video.

2021 Summer Camp
When 35 high school students showed up on the 猎奇重口 campus for the first day of journalism summer camp in July, they immediately went on assignment.
And, we didn't give them an easy assignment. They were tasked with spending three days covering one big – and complicated – topic: the future of journalism.
They learned about journalism's role in our democracy, how local news can support and connect communities and how to practice journalism carefully and ethically. They interviewed and photographed leaders in media in 猎奇重口 and beyond. They also got some great photos, wrote some great stories and created some great designs.
And, they had a bit of fun too.
Below is a gallery of some of the stories, photos and designs the students produced as well as a peek behind the scenes at camp.
Stay tuned for information on the 2022 School of Journalism summer camp.
Thank you to for the generous support of this program and the students who attended.
