Outdoor Program
is located on the northeast corner of the Fitness and Recreation Center, next to Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Stop by to find out more about skills classes in rock climbing, kayaking, cross-country skiing; chat with a staff member about what gear you need to rent for your next trip; or use the workshop to tune up your bike! The Outdoor Program is your gateway to adventure!
Climbing Wall

Bouldering is available whenever the Fitness & Recreation Center is open. You can find the facility hours here.
Gear at the Wall
We have shoes, harnesses and belay devices available to rent at the Wall (during Roped Climbing hours only). Rental prices are as follows:
- Shoes = $6
- Harness = $5
- Belay Device = $1
- Package of all three = $10
We also sell chalk balls ($5), athletic tape ($3) and chalk bags ($19, available at the ODP office) for your personal use. Loose chalk is prohibited.
Climbing Classes and Programs

Every Tuesday, 5 - 7 p.m., from the beginning of fall semester through October and from the beginning of spring semester through March.
This is a great clinic to learn what it takes to rope climb on the wall. Gear, knots, belay techniques and more will be covered.

Each semester, the ODP offers classes in basic rock climbing and lead climbing. More information can be found on the trips and classes page.
Private Climbing Lessons
Individualized lessons are available at the wall for any experience level.
Private Lessons (1-2 people) = $25/person/hour
Small Group Lessons (3-6 people) = $20/person/hour

Bike & Ski Workshop
The Outdoor Program workshop is located on the northeast corner of the Fitness and Recreation Center. Bring in your bike or winter gear to fix, tune, and keep you moving outdoors. We have a clean, friendly environment with all the tools needed. Plus, knowledgeable shop attendants are on hand to provide assistance. Here are just a few things you can do in our workshop:
- Pump your bike tires
- Fix a flat
- Lube a chain
- Fix gears
- Wax skis or boards
- Sharpen edges
- Purchase supplies as needed, such as bike tubes, cables, housing, wax, p-tex, and more
Bike Maintenance
Do-it-yourself: use our stand and tools to fix your bike on your own: $5/ half hour
Assisted: knowledgeable shop attendants will assist you with repairs: $15/ half hour
*Airing up your tires is free!
Ski and Snowboard Maintenance
Do-it-yourself: use our bench and tools to tune up your winter equipment on your own: $10/hour
Assisted: knowledgeable shop attendants will assist you with waxing and sharpening your winter equipment: $20/hour
