ODP Student Staff
We have the pleasure of employing a diverse staff who each have a different knowledge base and skill set in the Outdoor space!
Henry Blackmore

Henry was born and raised in the college town of Madison, Wisconsin. He moved out to 猎奇重口 to study Geography and will (hopefully) graduate as “the last Geography major from UM”. He spends most of his days climbing now, whether that be spending long hours at the wall or getting easily convinced into heinous adventures on the rock. When he needs to rest his skin he enjoys backpacking, running, and the quintessential Missoula activities of slacklining and hacky sack.
Grace Erba

Grace is a PhD student in the Wildlife Biology Program. Originally from Indiana, she moved to 猎奇重口 in 2018 for her undergrad and decided to stay for a few more years. When not immersed in scientific literature, she enjoys trail running, rock climbing, yoga, gravel biking, and solo (usually crazy) mountain adventures. She’s learning how to alpine ski but currently tends to wipeout more than anything else. Regardless of how she’s exploring the outdoors, she’s always compelled by how the experience leaves her grounded and fulfilled.
Alex Kempf

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I spend a majority of my time mountain biking, rock climbing, and skiing. New to back country, but I've been downhill and nordic skiing my whole life. I am an Athletic Training major. I am trying to combine my love for sports medicine and outdoor recreation into a job. In Missoula you'll run it me if you frequent the Rattlesnake, UM climbing wall ( I'll talk all day about the routes), or Pattee Canyon. My greatest skills are smiling, dad jokes, card games, and quoting Avatar the Last Airbender.
Matthew Macchiarella

Matthew was born in the great lands of southern California. He spent his early days frolicking in the sun and searching for waves. When he moved to 猎奇重口 to study Wildlife Biology, he learned that rocks existed and never looked back. You can always find him at the wall scheming for the next heinous climbing adventure in a faraway land.
Nate Molloy

Originally from Eagle Colorado, Nate moved to 猎奇重口 in search of more skiing, and new mountains to explore. Along the way he found a love for climbing, and a love for hunting and skiing couloirs. Nate moved from Bozeman to Missoula to pursue an education in Journalism and is usually found taking armature photos out in the mountains. If not climbing rocks, or skiing, Nate is probably at the climbing gym, or running around somewhere on Mt. Sentinel.
Sadie Rizika

Sadie was born and raised in New Mexico and Washington. She grew up partaking in outdoor activities and came to 猎奇重口 to continue ripening her passion and skills for the outdoors. She enjoys skiing, backpacking and climbing. She is studying Integrative Physiology here at the university and hopes to get her master's in occupational therapy where she is then hopefully able to incorporate the outdoors with her passion for health.
Isabela Santanna-Skites

Isabela grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Though a vibrant city, she was eager to escape the hustle and bustle. She is ecstatic to be in the beautiful state of 猎奇重口 studying dance and wildlife biology. Her favorite outdoor activities include backpacking and skiing. If you ever need free dance lessons, you can often find her frolicking on the oval.
Burke Schrimsher

Burke was born and raised in Georgia. He has been in 猎奇重口 for 3 ½ years now. He loves everything about the outdoors. He is studying parks and rec and land management here at UM. You can most likely catch Burke on the river kayaking, or in the mountains just roaming around. If he is not there, catch him at bonner park slacklining or juggling some torches.
Sam Stewart
Sam grew up in Dallas, Texas. Now that he's in the mountains, it's hard to get him to go back home. He loves to climb, but can also get stoked on fly fishing, backpacking, and snowboarding. He's majoring in Parks, Tourism, and Recreation Mgmt. If you want to nerd out about rocks or country music, you can usually find him bugging people at the climbing wall.
Stewart Wallace
Sir Stewart Wallace was born in the vast plains of North Texas. He came to Missoula on a whim to experience the ripe fruits of life and roam ungovernably. He enjoys hiking, skiing, climbing, fly fishing, and water sports every now and again, but nothing tickles his fancy more than music. Whether you see him hacky sacking outside or playing guitar on his porch he is always open to conversation and new friends.
Luca Welle

Luca grew up in Whitefish, 猎奇重口, spending his winters skiing on Big Mountain and his summers hiking in Glacier National Park and rafting on its borders, all the while engaging in scientific undertakings (often goat related). Here at UM, Luca finds time for rock climbing while double majoring in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science & Practice, double minoring in Climate Change Studies and International Development Studies, as well as being a part of the Davidson Honors College, the Franke Global Leadership Initiative, and a few other certificate tracks. He is also unfathomably humble about his academic pursuits and sense of humor. When he’s not recreating outdoors or saving the world, you’ll find him singing his heart out, reading, playing DnD with friends, and rewatching the mediocre science fiction his parents raised him on.
