Hi! My name is Gwen and I am a Level 1 Pilates instructor from Boulder, CO. I started doing Pilates in 2019 on my college campus. I immediately loved the way it made my body feel. I ran cross country through college and as an athlete accustomed to intense aerobic exercise, the low impact style of Pilates was completely new to me. After earning my bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College in Southwest Michigan, I moved to Bozeman where I studied Pilates through the Peak system with Emily Smith Wilson.
As a lifelong runner, I spent a lot of time trying to not get injured, or recovering. For me, Pilates became a safe space where I could retrain the patterns of movement I’d learned as an athlete into ones that are more gentle on my body. I found Pilates at a time where I was searching for the fitness community I had lost after college athletics. In Pilates, I found a system of movement that improves people’s experiences in their bodies and therefore their lives! I am thrilled to share Pilates with other folks so they can love it as much as I do, and to continue learning and growing as an instructor!
