Quick Tips to Prepare for a Career Event
Career events can be intimidating, but they're also an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and network with potential employers. With the right preparation, you can turn those nerves into confidence and make a lasting impression. Look at the checklist shown below that addresses tips you as a student can do before, during, and after attending!
Before

Ensure your resume is up-to-date and highlights your key skills and experiences. Tailor it to the types of positions you're seeking. A Resume is your first impression, so make it count. If you need help, visit the Student Success Center's Resume Resources, and/or make an appointment with Traci Beighle or Dawson Gremmels.

Make a list of the employers or industries you’re most interested in meeting. Prioritize them based on your career goals. Knowing who you want to talk to helps you make the most of your time at the fair. Make an appointment with Traci Beighle and Dawson Gremmels and visit them in the Gianchetta Student Success Center to discuss the employers visiting before the event.
