COLS 391: College & Career Success
COLS 391 is entirely focused on helping students understand themselves as young professionals, and figuring out what they want to do professionally.
Rather than academics, assignments entail career exploration. Students receive guidance and feedback, while independently pursuing fields of interest to them. They are taught how to critically analyze career choices while utilizing evaluation skills to weigh important job factors, like salary, employability, and likelihood of upward mobility. The class culminates in helping students to identify, pursue, and acquire positions where they can gain hands-on experience in their field of interest.
This 3-credit course is offered both Fall and Spring. TRIO strongly encourages our Juniors and Seniors to take the course. A short presentation is available here. Interested TRIO students should reach out to their TRIO advisor for assistance registering for the course.
