Resident Parking Need-to-Knows
Parking Passes: Spring parking permits will go on sale Monday, December 2nd. Fall parking permits will be valid through Tuesday, December 31st and Spring permits will become effective on January 1st, 2025! If you purchased an annual permit, your permit will remain valid into the new year and will expire August 31st, 2025.
Parking Pass Restrictions: Parking on campus is limited and often stressful. Everything you need as an on-campus resident is within walking and busing distance. If you purchase a parking pass as an on-campus resident (meaning you live in the dorms), you can only park in lots M-1, K, J, E, and designated areas in W and G. If you are parking in other lots on campus, you will be ticketed unless you pay for hourly or daily parking. Overflow parking is available at Dornblaser and Missoula College with a shuttle service to campus running every 15 – 20 minutes between 7am – 10pm. If you need to get back to campus after these hours, please call GrizWalk (406-243-2777).
Parking Map: Please view the parking map here to make sure you understand the location of lots designated for on-campus commuters.
Lewis & Clark and University Villages: Parking at your residence is free but you will still need to sign-up for a "No Cost" permit. As a resident of Lewis & Clark or University Villages you will not be allowed to purchase a parking pass for campus. This is due to ease of access to public and University transportation.
Please reach out to the ASUM Transportation Office (udash@umontana.edu) if you have questions regarding busing or UDASH shuttling. Please reach out to UM Parking Services (um.parking@mso.umt.edu) if you have any parking-related questions. Go Griz!

If you cannot find parking in lots H, J, or K, you may also park at the Dornblaser Park & Ride or Missoula College, both used as on-campus overflow overnight parking. Parking at your residence is free!
Students living at Lewis & Clark Villages or University Villages may park at their residences at no cost but still need to sign up for a "no cost" permit. UM Parking Services needs to know which vehicles are associated with apartment residents in order to enforce parking.
