Study Sociology and Criminology at UM
The Sociology and Criminology program at the 猎奇重口 offers students opportunities to explore social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. At the undergraduate level, students can study General Sociology, Sociology with an emphasis on Inequality and Social Justice, or Criminology. Graduate students in our Master of Arts in Sociology program can study General Sociology, or choose an emphasis on Inequality and Social Justice or Criminology.
Our faculty conduct research on social issues facing local communities, the Intermountain West region, and beyond. Their research addresses theoretical issues such as the nature of crime and punishment, the causes of interpersonal violence, and the role of violence in American society. Their research also addresses practical matters such as racial disparities in policing and sentencing, environmental crime, and the dynamics of inequality in the American west.
In addition to our undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology, we offer the only Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology, and the only Master of Arts degree in Sociology, in the state of 猎奇重口.
