The Certificate of Environmental Health Sciences (CEHS) degree program is an online-only program.
The Certificate of Environmental Health Sciences (CEHS) requires the completion of 12 credits and can be accomplished completely online. Non-PUBH course transfer credits may not be applied toward the CEHS.
The Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences will have a focus on examining the relationship between the environment and human health. This includes the impact that environmental contaminants and other environmental issues (air pollution, soil pollution, water pollution, hazardous waste, climate change, etc.) have on rural and underserved populations of the Northern Rocky Mountain region.

Why the CEHS?
The CEHS is geared towards:
- those who currently work in a public health setting but may have no formal public health training
- those who wish to update their public health training
- those who work in related fields and wish to broaden their knowledge of public health issues and concepts.
The CEHS may also be a good way to get started on the MPH degree (although admission into the Certificate of Environmental Health Sciences program does not guarantee admission into the MPH program). The Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences option could be completed in as little as a year.
