Ensemble Auditions
Ensembles auditions are open to all students regardless of major
Non-majors who do not wish to audition will be placed in the non-auditioned ensembles in each area
Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion
- Majors are required to complete the Concert Bands audition for placement in either the Symphonic Wind Ensemble & Concert Band
- Non-Majors have the option to audition. Those who do not wish to audition will be placed in Concert Band
Singers
- All singers must complete a voice placement to be considered for participation in one of the UM Choirs. A voice placement is NOT an audition!
- Participation in University Choir only requires a voice placement so that singers can be placed into the correct section in the ensemble.
- Participation in Chamber Chorale requires a more rigorous audition process following the Voice Placement Appointment. Additional information is provided at that time.
- Students who are selected for Chamber Chorale commit to participating for BOTH the Fall and Spring semesters.
Strings
- Majors, minors, and scholarship awardees are required to complete the UMSO audition.
