UM Chamber Chorale
Under the direction of Dr. Stevie J. Hirner, the 猎奇重口 Chamber Chorale is an advanced, auditioned, mixed-voice ensemble of sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses that promotes underrepresented composers in every program, performing ethically sourced and previously overlooked repertoire in addition to the selections from the Western canon. Chamber Chorale prioritizes outreach to rural areas in our state while seeking broad performance opportunities, including tours in 2022 to the United Kingdom, Germany, and the NW ACDA Conference in Spokane, WA. Chamber Chorale recruits from all disciplines offered at our public, Research-1 university, including Wildlife Biology, Forestry, Business, Musical Theatre, Linguistic Anthropology, History, Neuroscience, Music Performance, Music Education, and Music Composition.
Participation in Chamber Chorale requires a more rigorous audition process following the Voice Placement Appointment and singers who are selected commit to participating for BOTH the fall and spring semesters. More information on the audition process can be found on the Choirs homepage.
Chamber Chorale rehearses in MUS 218 on Mon/Wed/Fri from 1:00 pm-2:20 pm.
