Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Admission Application Instructions
Applying for admission to the entry-level OTD program is a two-step process:
First: Complete an application through OTCAS (Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service).
As part of this application process, the following must be received and verified by OTCAS no later than the published deadline for an application to be considered.
- Official Transcripts (sent directly to OTCAS)
- OTCAS electronic application with all questions answered, including both required and supplemental sections
- Essay Questions (uploaded in OTCAS)
- 3 Letters of Recommendation (An email link will be sent by OTCAS directly to person completing the recommendation who can then upload a letter into OTCAS)

Second (only applicable following notification of acceptance to the program): Applicants who have been accepted to the OTD program will be notified directly and then be instructed to submit a . Applications are not complete until this application has been received.
As part of this process, applicants must do the following:
- Enter names and timeframes of all colleges and universities attended.
- List names of the 3 references provided to OTCAS (see above).
- Pay the application fee of $70.
Admission Deadline for OTD Program at UM
- Fall Semester - Online applications must be submitted to and verified by OTCAS prior to the November 1 deadline. The verification process can take two to three weeks to complete, so students are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible. If you are waiting on completed Fall transcripts to submit your application, you should submit with what you have and can update your application with the completed transcripts at a later date. Late applications will not be considered. A completed application includes official transcript(s) on file in OTCAS.
