Personal Summary
As a Program Officer at the Mansfield Center, Rachel supports the development of globally minded leaders of integrity through the Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) for global scholars as well as language and cultural exchanges in China and Taiwan. Previously, she organized the Mansfield Center's Sports Diplomacy: Sport for Social Change two-way exchanges between athletes and coaches in 猎奇重口 and Latin America.
Originally from Indiana, Rachel studied English Writing and Spanish at DePauw University. Her international experience includes faculty-directed programs in Peru, China, and France as well as a semester of study in Salamanca, Spain. She collaborated with many international peers as a Writing Tutor for DePauw's Academic Resource Center and a Teaching Assistant for the English Immersion Institute for International Students. After graduation, she joined the Teach For America Corps and earned a master's degree in teaching. She has four years of experience teaching high school Spanish.
Rachel's favorite part of working at the Mansfield Center is welcoming people from all over the world to 猎奇重口. U.S. and international participants engage on a wide variety of topics from introductory Mandarin language to empowering girls in sports to analyzing contemporary American literature and more. Together, we foster confidence, teamwork, and curiosity in our persistent aim to be leaders of integrity.
