“As a former student of Professor Fluck's, I would highly recommend taking a class from him. I was fortunate enough to take both Cross-Cultural Management and Business Ethics from him last semester, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in both of these classes. I signed up for both classes in the fall because I felt that the topics covered would be beneficial to my knowledge as an International Business major. After taking the classes, I think that they are beneficial to any business major in the college. I was genuinely interested in the information provided in the classes, specifically Cross-Cultural Management. I felt that I could actually relate the information I was learning to real world examples, which made it all the more accessible and easier to understand. Cross Cultural Management provided me with a better understanding of the world and the interaction of different cultures, especially in a business environment. The topic was much more complex than I originally anticipated, which made it even more interesting. Another thing I valued was the way Professor Fluck taught the class, his lectures included a lot of interaction with classmates, learning aids like videos and presentations, and guest speakers. All of Professor Fluck's assignments were straightforward and he never assigned busy work, which was something that I really appreciated. He was able to create a very comfortable and welcoming learning environment that I looked forward to being in. I would definitely take another class from Professor Fluck, and I recommend his class wholeheartedly to any student in the College of Business”.

“I highly recommend Professor Udo Fluck's MBA courses. His Business Ethics class offers invaluable insights into the complex moral landscape of modern business. Professor Fluck is a wealth of knowledge and enhances the learning experience by asking thought-provoking questions and fostering lively discussions. His interactive teaching style ensures that students are active participants while exploring the ethical dimensions of business decisions. The practical insights gained from this course are essential for any future business leader.”

“This class, however, offers something uniquely different — it challenges you to think beyond the traditional frameworks of business and consider how cultural differences shape interactions and decision-making. What truly sets this course apart is Professor Fluck. Unlike many classes that are fast-paced and focused on covering as much material as possible, this course emphasizes depth over speed. His teaching style made complex cultural concepts accessible and engaging, while fostering an environment where I always felt encouraged to explore perspectives beyond my own. By the end of BMGT480, I gained not only practical tools for navigating cultural differences but also a deeper appreciation for the diversity that shapes our increasingly globalized world. If he offered any other courses that I had not already completed, I would enroll without hesitation. This class was an unforgettable and transformative learning experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to learn from Professor Fluck.”

"Dr. Fluck delivered an excellent seminar on how culture can impact business relationships in the Europe Union. Management in the European Union has been one of the best courses I have taken at the 猎奇重口. Dr. Fluck exhibited his expertise throughout the lecture, offering insights that enlightened my perspective on working with people from different cultural backgrounds. I wish I would have had the opportunity to take this course prior to my extensive travels with the U.S. Army as I would have been better prepared to collaborate with international partners. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to all those who are able to attend, especially those who are considering working internationally, regardless of the industry."

“I had the privilege of participating in Professor Fluck’s Cross-Cultural Management course, and I can confidently say it was a transformative experience! The course not only provided me with invaluable insights into navigating cultural differences in the global business landscape but also equipped me with practical strategies to effectively manage diverse teams and foster cross-cultural understanding. The interactive nature of the course, coupled with real-world case studies and discussions, allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of cross-cultural communication and decision-making. This course not only broadened my global perspective but also enhanced my ability to thrive in today's multicultural work environment. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to excel in a globalized world!”
Declan McCabe

“The course opens your mind to other cultures values, ways of life, and how to be successful. I found it incredibly fascinating, surprising, and useful to learn the similarities and differences in other countries. I believe this cross-cultural management course was the best preparation for me to be successful in other cultures and mitigate culture shock. Without taking BMGT 480, I would have never realized my interest in cross-cultural management and wouldn’t have felt prepared to not only experience other cultures, but conduct business internationally.”
Adin Rackham
BMGT 480 Cross-Cultural Management student
Spring Semester 2022
“Cross-cultural management was one of my favorite courses I took during my senior year at UM. Being an international student from France and having studied all throughout college in the US, I definitely was able to relate to a lot of the content we studied in this course, especially the topics of culture shock and cultural adjustment. I strongly believe that what I have learned in this course is crucial to my future career in international management. With globalization becoming the norm, the individuals best positioned to being placed in charge of international assignments will be the ones skilled in dealing with cultural differences and adapting to different cultural settings. Udo's course taught us the foundations of being one of those individuals, from the different dimensions of culture to building and managing intercultural teams! It is safe to say that we are all leaving this class with a new set of skills and knowledge that will serve us during both our careers as well as in our personal lives.
