Personal Summary
Maddy grew up watching and wondering about the critters in the lake behind her home in Minnesota. She earned a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from the University of Minnesota in 2017 and later sought opportunities to hone her skills in wildlife biology and conservation. She collared wolves in northern Minnesota, tracked swift foxes in northeast 猎奇重口, and surveyed wolf populations in central Idaho. She worked her way onto the Yellowstone Wolf and Cougar Projects where she served as a research technician for five years. While working in Yellowstone, Maddy discovered her interest in wildlife disease ecology and decided to join the Population and Disease Ecology Lab at the 猎奇重口. Maddy is interested in learning about the effects of parasite co-infection on wildlife disease dynamics using Sin Nombre virus in deer mice as a model system. When she's not trapping small mammals or working in the lab, Maddy enjoys exploring wild places, crocheting amigurumi critters for her niece and nephew, baking, and playing with her family's dogs.
