Financial Aid is Not Affected by Federal Freeze
Dear UM Students,
As you may know, yesterday the U.S. Office of Management and Budget issued a memorandum putting a "pause" on all federal grant and loan programs that "may be impacted" by the executive orders issued by President Trump last week.
Since the release of this memo, we have been seeking clarification from the U.S. Department of Education and the 猎奇重口 Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education to understand its impacts on student financial aid. I know this has been top of mind for many students and families over the past 24 hours.
While the situation continues to evolve, the that this order does not apply to Title IV financial aid funds, including federal grants, loans, and work study funds. Rest assured that operations related to the awarding and disbursement of all forms of financial aid, including federal, state, and institutional funds, will continue.
We will monitor this and other orders and use emails like this one to communicate how they may impact you directly. As always, if you have questions about your financial aid, please email faid@mso.umt.edu.
