Welcome Back, Grizzlies!
We hope you had a restful and restorative break. Some of you have been dealing with some significant challenges. As you return to UM, know we are here for you.
Support and Resources
Between traveling to campus and staying healthy, winter can be tricky. Keeping yourself well and balanced is important. From our tips to helping you survive winter in Missoula, o supporting your needs with Curry Health Center’s medical, dental, counseling, pharmaceutical and wellness needs, UM provides resources to support your success. If you have been impacted by the wildfires in California and need support for your classes, please reach out to your academic adviser or contact the Dean of Students.
Financial Aid Info and Support
Financial Aid began disbursing on Jan. 6, 2025 for students with completed requirements. We are not experiencing significant delays with aid processing as we did with the Fall semester. There is a known issue with the campus' phone system that is preventing some callers from getting through to our customer service team. If you aren't able to meet us in person, please email us for quickest service: finaid@umontana.edu. Common questions to help address your concerns:
-
My aid has not paid: Please check your Financial Aid tab in CyberBear to see if you have outstanding requirements. Email us at faid@mso.umt.edu if you have questions about your aid, or visit us in Aber Hall on the 5th Floor.
-
When will I receive my refund? Refunds are processed on Tuesdays and Fridays (holidays will impact the refund schedule) so watch your student email for a refund notification.
-
SAP or Max Credit Appeals: If you have submitted your appeal and documentation, please keep in mind that there is a 2-3 week period for review. You will not be dropped from classes while your appeal is under review, and we will waive any late fees incurred.
Please reach out to us with questions. We are here to help! Have a financial aid question? Skip the wait and sign up for from anywhere! Just register through the virtual line system and keep track of your wait time on the status page. When you have 30 minutes remaining, head over to Aber Hall. If you can’t make it and are marked as a no-show, don’t worry — your wait time will be credited back to you.
